ASCAP Experience Is Almost Here!

Picking up a ticket to the ASCAP Experience was a great decision, and we want to help you get the most of it. An entire day of learning and networking can be pretty overwhelming, but never fear: We’ve got tips!

Bring your ID

We’ll check your ID at the door, and match it to the name on your ticket. So make sure to bring that ID!

🎶 QR the sunshine of my life… 🎶

For a speedier check-in, have your unique QR code ready when you arrive. We can scan it straight from your mobile device, but a printed copy works, too. We emailed you the QR code when you registered, and we’ll do it again the day before the Experience.

Get to the Skirball early

We’ve got a sold-out event, jam-packed with must-hear information and music from start to finish, and eeeeeveryone needs to go through a security check. Come early to avoid the line and get the best seats! Check-in opens at 9:30am. You definitely don’t want to miss the kickoff event…

Hear from our top execs at the ASCAP Membership Meeting

To kick off the ASCAP Experience, ASCAP’s top executives will provide an essential recap of ASCAP’s remarkable 2025, including our impressive revenues and distributions, and our members’ culture-shaping success. PLUS: You’ll also be treated to performances from some very special musical guests!

PLEASE NOTE: The ASCAP Membership Meeting is the only event of the day that is free to attend for all ASCAP members. However, you must have RSVPed to the Membership Meeting if you aren't attending the full-day ASCAP Experience, and we are no longer accepting RSVPs. We’re all filled up! If you're an Experience ticketholder, you are already on the list for the Membership Meeting and you do not need to RSVP.

Pack light

There’s no coat check or luggage storage at the Skirball, so bring just what you need. That said…

Bring a (small) bag

There’s always unexpected stuff to take home from the ASCAP Experience – business cards, flyers, mixtapes, merch, etc. We recommend that you bring some kind of small bag or purse with you to transport it all. Forgot to bring one? No worries, you can purchase an official ASCAP tote or belt bag at the ASCAP merch store, in Guerin Pavilion at the Skirball.

Leave your car at home…

If you bring your car, you’ll be sharing the Skirball’s on-site lots with all of the other Experience attendees, plus other guests visiting the Skirball Cultural Center throughout the day. So we highly recommend that you consider ridesharing. Quoth the Skirball website: “the driver should turn into the Skirball campus on the north side, at Herscher Way, proceed down the driveway approximately 150 yards, and drop you off by the front steps at our Main Entrance. For the safety of you and others, please make sure your driver does not drop you off on Sepulveda Blvd.”

You could even brave LA’s public transportation system, and take the via Metro Rapid 233/761 bus which stops just across Sepulveda from the Skirball’s main entrance. Visit the Metro LA website for bus schedules.

Once you’re parked, you’ll see signage directing you to Herscher Hall.

…or ignore our advice and park at the Skirball

Per the Skirball: “During normal business hours, visitor parking is FREE at the Skirball. Parking is available in the Skirball’s North Parking garage, located underground at the north end of the Skirball's main driveway, approximately 150 yards north of our Main Entrance. Parking is also available in the East Parking garage, located across Sepulveda Blvd.”

Once you’re parked, you’ll see signage directing you to Herscher Hall.

Badges? We don’t need no stinkin’ badges! (actually, you do)

You’ll be given a badge once you check in. Remember, your badge is the only way to access the everflowing fountain of knowledge and positivity that is the ASCAP Experience. Take good care of it and keep it with you throughout the day – especially if you want to wander around the beautiful Skirball campus during a break.

Bon appetit!

You came to the Experience because you’re hungry for knowledge, but don’t forget about actual food. There aren’t any restaurants within walking distance of the Skirball. BUT: We’ll provide lunch during the midday break, and some light bites during the reception at the end of the day. You’re also welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages as a supplement.

Get the lay of the land

The ASCAP Experience is sold out, and the venue will be packed the whole day. Once you get inside, take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the place. Where’s the bathroom? Where can I get water? Where can I visit one of the delightful vendors who has so generously decided to support the event? These are all fine questions, and you can answer them all just by walking around!

Get to know your panelists

Our Experience panelists have some crazy credits and incredible backstories. Head to ascapexperience.com/panelists so you know what to ask them during the Q&A session.

Say hello to our vendors and partners during the break

Shoes, glorious shoes

Your feet are gonna get a workout during the Experience. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes - your feetsies will thank you!

Charge me up

The Experience starts early and ends late, so make sure your phone battery is at 100%, and bring a portable charger for some extra juice later in the day. The Skirball does have electrical outlets, but you don’t want to be that person.

Well, well, well.

The renewed inspiration you’ll pick up at the Experience is good for the mind, body and soul. If you want even more of a boost to your wellbeing, check out some of the editorial articles from our ASCAP Wellness Program, geared specifically for music creators. May we recommend the one on how to deal with criticism, or maintaining your passion for music when it’s also your job, or managing collaborative relationships?

Share your ASCAP Experience…experience with #ascapexperience

Get those thumbs ready! Every square foot of the Skirball will be full of Instagrammable sights and sounds; every panel will be full of Facebookable facts and TikTokable tidbits. Take a picture with a new collaborator friend (or just yourself) and share it all with your followers! Don’t forget to tag @ascap and #ascapexperience.

Write it down

The info flies fast ‘n furious at the Experience, and even if you’ve got the memory of an elephant, we recommend transcribing the good stuff as it happens. Bring an old-fashioned pencil ‘n paper, or just tappity-tap notes on your phone. More of a visual learner? We’ll post on-demand videos of some of the sessions later on, after we’ve caught up on our sleep.

Re: Spect

Our panelists have donated their time to help out your career. Show them your appreciation by silencing your phone during the panel, and avoid mobbing them afterwards.

Help us make the Experience Q&As as helpful as possible

Before you step up to the mic during a Q&A session, think about whether your question will benefit everyone in the room, or just you. Our Q&As are meant to help all of our attendees - they’re not the place for pitching your music, offering your services or telling your life story. That’s what networking time is for! Speaking of which...

Mix. Mingle. Schmooze.

This is the first in-person ASCAP Experience in three years, so make the most of it and meet people! We’ve built in pockets of free time to the schedule, so you can get your networking on.

Need some pointers? Make sure to attend the Amanda Jones “How to Build Your Music Network” for some helpful tips.

Catch some live music

What would a music conference be without live music? You can hear hit songs from the people who wrote ‘em at The Writers Jam. You are also more than welcome to harmonize in the restrooms, jam in the hallways, or start a spontaneous freestyle circle outside (wouldn’t be the first time).

Got an ASCAP question?

The Experience is a great place to ask us your burning questions about how to properly register your music, how to make the most of your membership, etc. Head on over to The ASCAP Member Corner in the atrium to chat with a real, live ASCAP employee. We’re here for you!

Conserve your energy

You’ll be out and about for many hours at a time. Take it all in, but pace yourself! There’s plenty of places around the venue to rest and relax.

Download the ASCAP mobile app

Whether you’re on tour, heading to a co-writing session, or – ahem – attending a stellar music creator conference, being a professional music creator means you’re always on the move. With the ASCAP mobile app, it’s easier than ever to do your essential ASCAP business, wherever you are!

Download the app before the ASCAP Experience. Have questions about how it works? We’ll have some mobile app experts stationed at Guerin Pavilion, and they can’t wait to chat with you.

Follow @ascap for updates

Be sure to follow us @ascap on Instagram & X to keep up with the latest Experience news. We don’t anticipate any programming changes day of, but if there are any, we’ll let you know on socials.

Have a phenomenal ASCAP Experience!
