What is the ASCAP Experience?
ASCAP Experience is an ongoing series of virtual sessions, curated by your pals at ASCAP to help you amp up your creativity, polish your music-making skills and better understand how the money flows in the music business. It features practical workshops and in-depth interviews, provocative discussions, opportunities to get your music heard and more.
Who is the ASCAP Experience created for?
ASCAP Experience is open to all music creators, music industry professionals and students, regardless of which performing rights organization you call home (if you don’t belong to a PRO, that’s cool too).
Does it cost anything?
It sure doesn’t! ASCAP Experience is 100% free.
If it’s free, why do I need to RSVP?
When you join our RSVP list, you’ll be the first to find out about upcoming programming and opportunities to get your music heard. In addition, there are certain opportunities that are available exclusively to folks who RSVP.
I RSVP'd but have not received the link to join
We typically send two emails out to our confirmed RSVP list the week of our events. 1. An email with the link the day before the event 2. A reminder email with the link to join the day of the event
When does ASCAP Experience take place?
We roll out new sessions bi-weekly on Wednesdays, throughout 2021. You can see all of the upcoming sessions on our schedule page.
Where do the sessions take place?
It’s all virtual! Most of our sessions are hosted on the ASCAP Experience website. We also host some on YouTube Premiere and Instagram Live. Check the schedule page for more info on when and where to access each session.
What's the best way to view ASCAP Experience sessions?
Here are some tips for optimizing your viewing experience on each platform we're using for the ASCAP Experience:
How do I access the sessions?
Visit our schedule page to access each panel.
Will there be more panels added?
Yes! Please RSVP to stay in the know about new panels and programming.
What if I missed a session?
Lucky you: our past programming is available to watch on demand for free.
Are there any opportunities to get feedback on my music?
Indeed! Sign up for our RSVP list to be the first to hear about opportunities to get your music heard by our panelists.
Can I ask the panelists a question?
Select sessions do include a Q&A portion, with questions submitted in advance. Make sure to sign up for our RSVP list, and we’ll give you a heads up when a panelist is taking questions.
Do I get to interact with other attendees?
The sessions we host on YouTube Premiere and Instagram Live will let you chat with your fellow ASCAP Experience attendees. It gets pretty lively! Please make sure to abide by our Code of Conduct when you’re in the chat.
I already RSVP’d, but I’m being asked to “register” for certain ASCAP Experience events. What’s the deal?
Some of our sessions require one extra signup so that we can send you direct links to the real-time stream. But don’t worry, it’s simple to sign up – especially if you’re already on our RSVP list.
